Vinyasa Flow
The style of Vinyasa Flow is characterised by its smooth flow in the execution of the postures. All the postures that are realised and maintained in this practice, are connected through the rhythmic breathing, increasing the corporal strength and energy. The deep breathing creates a relaxing effect on the body and mind. As the practitioner progresses, asana sequences also advance with the increasing resistance, flexibility and coordination.
Vinyasa flow is a style of yoga that is characterised by chaining postures and moving from one to another, with fluidity and rhythmic breathing. It is commonly referred to as Yoga Flow.
In the practice of Vinyasa Flow a great variety of postures are offered, and sometimes, there are no two classes the same. The opposite would be "fixed forms" of practice, such as Ashtanga which often has repeating sequences, depending on the series being practiced.
The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga Flow, is a great help to develop a balanced and healthy body.
As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognises the temporal nature of existence. When you enter a posture, it is held for a while, breathing, then going on to the next posture. Vinyasa, or Vinyasa-Krama, refers to the Vedic tradition where the term referred to a series or sequence of steps to do something sacred.
