When you complete the Instructor course you can study to be a full Teacher..

This course requires a commitment to personal practice, and the study of applied anatomy, teaching (pedagogy), the Yoga tradition and the classical Yoga texts.

Completion of the Teachers courses provides access to the  100 hrs postgraduate courses to complete your 500 hrs. diploma

Objective of the Course

The purpose of these courses is to complete the training begun in the Instructors Course, developing further all themes both practical and theoretical. You know the basics of anatomy and sequencing to give your students an intelligent and effective yoga class, but now you will work with your teachers to develop your own voice and master your teaching skills.  The course work in this program is 200 hours.

Recognition

The program fulfils the international standards to obtain the 200-hour training diploma. The monthly format will consist of weekends from Friday to Sunday once a month for ten months.

Detailed Training

This course gives the student a broad vision of the world of Yoga and its theories. The practical classes demand a high level of adjustment techniques so you can teach more advanced classes.

Techniques

Already knowing the basics of anatomy and the sequences to be able to teach an intelligent and effective class, now you will work with a mentor to develop your own voice and master your teaching skills. To attend this course, you must have completed the 200-hour Yoga Instructors training course.

The course consists of:

  • 80 hours of technical training.
    • Asana
    • Pranayama
    • Sequences and progressions (Karanas)
    • Diagnostic analysis and evaluation of yoga instruction
  • 50 hours of teaching methodology.
    • Design and direction of yoga sessions and activities
    • Relaxation
    • Meditation
    • Programming and resource management in yoga instruction activities
  • 30 hours Yoga Philosophy. Fundamental philosophical and mystical principles of yoga.
  • 15 hours anatomy and physiology.
  • 25 hours practicum.

If you have completed the yoga Instructor course and have acquired the basics of teaching postures, the basic training in how to approach your students safely and practically and you wish to continue advancing this knowledge, then this Teachers training course will help you to qualify, and become a true professional Teacher.

The contact hours that make up this curriculum are distributed among the different training areas already outlined in the instructor course. In them, however, the expansion of knowledge and the deepening of your study will fulfill the expectations of your professional qualification and your personal enrichment.

  • Techniques, Methodology and Practical Application: practical knowledge of the variants of advanced postures, their different techniques and their multiple adaptations, oriented to a personalized, differentiating teaching, able to attend the different capacities that are observed in the classroom, incorporating the most current new methodologies.
  • Pedagogy: Methodology of planning and learning. Advanced knowledge of programming and class design. Pedagogical and creative strategies for the elaboration and individual creation of teaching plans and oral performance techniques.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: specialized knowledge of applied anatomy during the practice of postures.
  • Philosophy and Tradition: Comparative multi-faceted study of the yoga tradition: history, literature, philosophy, its practical application and its conciliation with Western culture.
  • Meditation, practice of advanced pranayamas and kriyas
  • Practicum: Throughout the course, what is learned in the theoretical and pedagogical classes is practiced, reinforcing the knowledge of the postures, variants, substitutions and use of aids for the improvement of personal practice with a view to teaching.
  • Already at this stage of the Teacher training course, the asana technique is thoroughly in hand, and the next question that arises is "and now what?" Now appears the ability and the possibility to go a step further, to venture to explore the limits of the posture and direct it with purpose. You will learn to recognize the fine line that differentiates yoga from acrobatics or gymnastics.
  • In this course we will move towards a conscious and integrative asana.
