When you complete the Instructor course you can study to be a full Teacher..

This course requires a commitment to personal practice, and the study of applied anatomy, teaching (pedagogy), the Yoga tradition and the classical Yoga texts.

Completion of the Teachers courses provides access to the  100 hrs postgraduate courses to complete your 500 hrs. diploma

Objective of the Course

The purpose of these courses is to complete the training begun in the Instructors Course, developing further all themes both practical and theoretical. You know the basics of anatomy and sequencing to give your students an intelligent and effective yoga class, but now you will work with your teachers to develop your own voice and master your teaching skills.  The course work in this program is 200 hours.

Recognition

The program fulfils the international standards to obtain the 200-hour training diploma. The monthly format will consist of weekends from Friday to Sunday once a month for ten months.

Detailed Training

This course gives the student a broad vision of the world of Yoga and its theories. The practical classes demand a high level of adjustment techniques so you can teach more advanced classes.

Techniques

Already knowing the basics of anatomy and the sequences to be able to teach an intelligent and effective class, now you will work with a mentor to develop your own voice and master your teaching skills. To attend this course, you must have completed the 200-hour Yoga Instructors training course.

Structure

The course consists of:

  • 80 hours of technical training.
    • Asana
    • Pranayama
    • Sequences and progressions (Karanas)
    • Diagnostic analysis and evaluation of yoga instruction
  • 50 hours of teaching methodology.
    • Design and direction of yoga sessions and activities
    • Relaxation
    • Meditation
    • Programming and resource management in yoga instruction activities
  • 30 hours Yoga Philosophy. Fundamental philosophical and mystical principles of yoga.
  • 15 hours anatomy and physiology.
  • 25 hours practicum.

Themes

The contact hours that make up this curriculum are distributed among the different areas.

  • Techniques, Methodology and Practical Application: practical knowledge of anatomical adaptations, precision in postural corrections, the use of accessory tools. Learning background, skills, abilities, values and attitudes related to the practical teaching of yoga.
  • Pedagogy, Method and Teaching Exercise:: knowledge intended for the teaching profession. Preparation and design of programs, organization of classes, performance techniques, creation of environments, acquisition of specific vocabulary, psychological assessment techniques. Design and presentation of lesson plans with different levels of practice and difficulty.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: basic knowledge of applied anatomy and physiology of the body, and practical application.
  • Philosophy and Canonical Texts: Approach to the philosophical principles and ethics of yoga, from the study, interpretation and commentary of the different canonical texts.
  • Tradition: A review of its origins and evolution to make it more understandable to current approaches. We emphasize an approach based on the importance of tradition as a fundamental part, in order to understand the origin and development of Yoga. The tradition is approached with deep respect and that attitude is applied to each practice. However, our approach is not dogmatic. The intention is to awaken the traditional spirituality as a form of personal psychological growth. Consciousness begins here and ... who knows where it will end?
  • Meditation, Practice of Basic Pranayamas
  • Methodology of teaching and practice:Throughout the course, what is learned in the theoretical and pedagogical classes is practiced, strengthening the knowledge of the positions, the adaptations, substitutions and use of grants for the improvement of personal practice and the practice of teaching.
